The Secret Behind Our Nuts
Every batch of Nutorious nuts is handcrafted the traditional way.
Our nuts are gently stirred by hand for twenty minutes before being caramelised a second time to achieve the perfect golden coating. Each small batch is cooked in a traditional copper pot, specially made by a French artisan coppersmith, ensuring even heat and consistent caramelisation every time.
Once caramelised, the nuts are immediately hand-packed to lock in their freshness - ready for the moment you open the bag and experience that famous Nutorious crunch.
Only the Finest Nuts
Great nuts start with great ingredients.
As a proudly Australian family-owned business, we source the highest quality nuts available, supporting Australian growers wherever possible. Our peanuts come from Queensland, almonds from Victoria and South Australia, and our macadamias from the family-run Waliz Nut Farm in the Byron Bay hinterland.
By working closely with trusted growers, we ensure every Nutorious nut delivers the flavour, quality and freshness our customers have come to love.
Spreading the Sweet Joy of Nuts
Nutorious began as a happy accident.
Back in 1998, Barb and Rhonda started experimenting with caramelising nuts and quickly realised they had created something special. Their delicious golden nuts soon developed a loyal following, and in 2006 they opened the first Nutorious store in Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building. From that little shop, they handcrafted small batches of caramelised nuts every day, filling the halls with the irresistible aroma that became a Nutorious signature.
Over the years, Nutorious has become a Sydney institution - attracting generations of locals, tourists and devoted fans who follow the scent of freshly caramelising nuts.
Today, those same legendary flavours are available both in-store and online, bringing the sweet joy of Nutorious to nut lovers across Australia.
Continuing the Tradition
When long-time customer Ashley Scott had the opportunity to continue the legacy of Nutorious, it was an easy decision.
With a background in fine dining and a passion for working with Australian artisan producers, Ashley is dedicated to preserving everything that makes Nutorious special - the craftsmanship, the quality ingredients, and the simple joy of perfectly caramelised nuts.
Today, Ashley and the Nutorious team continue the tradition of making small-batch caramelised nuts the same way they always have: by hand, with care, and with a whole lot of love.
